About the Lunar Flow Vinyasa Yoga & Crystal Sound Bowl Event
This Lunar Flow Vinyasa Yoga will begin with slow free flows to ground you into your body and yin poses to close class, so you'll be in an open state to receive the sound bath. This style of yoga is not about getting our bodies into poses, but rather about using the poses to get into our bodies. The class follows an energetic arc where you can expect free flow, intuitive movement, storytelling, and opportunities to meet your edges. This is your invitation to color outside the lines and listen to how your body is asking to express itself. Mikaela is the guide, but your body is always your best teacher.
Anchoring this deeply personal practice will be a serene Crystal Bowl Sound Bath provided by Annette Schilz. Designed to be more than auditory, the pure, resonant tones of the quartz bowls will literally wash over you. This vibrational medicine works at the core of your being, gently coaxing your energy system back into harmony, nurturing a restorative cellular reset that leaves you feeling renewed, integrated, and centered.
About Mikaela Schulz of Awaken Vinyasa Yoga
Mikaela says: "From my very first Awaken Vinyasa yoga class, I was hooked. The instructor walked around the room as he taught, told stories, spoke to yoga philosophy, allowed us to free flow (and I promptly got lost and didn’t know what to do next), guided intuitive movement (where I also did not know what to do with my body), and took us to our edges. I walked out of the class inspired and with an inner fire rekindled in me that I didn’t even know had gone out. It wasn’t just a yoga class…it was a practice of how to be better at life. I didn’t always know I wanted to be a yoga teacher, as my heart and mind was set on playing professional golf. But after I decided to take a different route and six years after my first yoga class, I traveled to Costa Rica to get my yoga teacher training from Awaken Yoga School with the same teacher that guided my first class, Alexander Schimmel. In addition to Alexander, my mentors and teachers include Alexandra Sheth, Amy Bichajian, and Ivan Durst, and with Awaken Yoga School I have 400 hours of yoga teacher training. My hope for teaching Awaken Vinyasa is to guide transformative and inspiring classes that impact you as much as the practice has impacted me."
