About the Usui Reiki 1 Certification Training

WHAT IS REIKI?

Reiki is a Japanese energy healing technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei, which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power," and Ki, which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."

HOW CAN I USE REIKI?

Reiki has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind, and spirit, creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security, and well-being. Many have reported miraculous results. Reiki has also been approved for use in many hospitals and other clinical settings.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING A REIKI CLASS?

In this class, you will learn Reiki hand positions and Japanese Reiki techniques as created by founder Dr. Mikao Usui, as well as how to use Reiki for specific conditions. An amazingly simple technique to learn, the ability to use Reiki is transferred to the student with an "attunement" given by a Reiki master. This allows the student to tap into an unlimited supply of "life force energy" to improve one's health and enhance the quality of life. Reiki use is not dependent on one's intellectual capacity or spiritual development and therefore is available to everyone. It has been successfully taught to thousands of people of all ages and backgrounds.

IS REIKI A RELIGION?

While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. It has no dogma, and there is nothing you must believe in order to learn and use Reiki. In fact, Reiki is not dependent on belief at all and will work whether you or the recipient believes in it or not.

About Jennifer LaFeldt, LMT, RMT

Jennifer first started her journey as a healer in October of 2000, earning her Infant Massage Certification to teach parents how to massage their infants and toddlers. She became interested in animal Reiki, which led her to Ray Golden, Reiki Master. In December of 2001 she began her training in the Usui System of Reiki and became a Reiki Master, third degree, in a little over a year. 

In August of 2007, Jennifer completed her massage therapy certification from the Flint School of Therapeutic Massage and holds a current LMT license in the state of Michigan. In September of 2015, she took Medical Intuitive training with Tina Zion and in December of 2019 she updated her Reiki training to become a Registered Holy Fire III Karuna Reiki Master with William Lee Rand of the International Center for Reiki Training. In 2020, she also had her Holy Fire III updated to allow her to teach online Reiki.

Jennifer’s full-time career is an infant mental health therapist. She offers Reiki to clients from children to adults and is an Affiliate Member of the International Center for Reiki Training.
