IN CASE OF INCLEMENT WEATHER, WE WILL MOVE INDOORS (USING CANDLES INSTEAD OF A BONFIRE) TO THE Enlightened Soul Center & Shop, a mile and a half away.
This fire ceremony is in honor of the New Moon on July 28. These ceremonies may not always be on the actual day of the moon change, but the energies are building a few days before and after as well.
The ceremony takes place at the fire pit in Amy Garber's backyard. It will be led by Eve Avrin, Ph.D., who has been studying Peruvian shamanism with the Four Winds Society’s Healing Light Body School since 2011.
This ceremony involves using two small sticks, one to blow onto it the things we wish to release, and the other to blow onto it the things we wish to bring into our lives. We also chant, shake rattles, and beat drums while each person takes their turn burning their sticks in the fire. Very powerful, moving, and transformative experience!
You may bring:
-
Drums/rattles (we can provide some makeshift ones too)
-
Your own beverage (no alcohol or other mind-altering substances).
-
We have about 10 chairs, you are welcome to bring a lawn chair also, for socializing before/after!
-
Snacks — but ingredients to make s'mores after the ceremony will be provided.
NOTE: marshmallows can't be roasted on the sacred fire; we'll build a separate fire for that.
